Yuyuan Garden is located just a short walk away from Bund and in the center of Shanghai’s Old City,

The area is buzzing with tourists shopping at the hundreds of market stalls and snacking on every kind of street food Shanghai has to offer… which is the main reason we stopped by, of course.

We were after: Xian Long Bao and worked up an appetite with a little of our own sightseeing.

I liked the quiet and calm atmosphere of Yuyuan gardens with it’s classic Chinese architecture consisting of bridges, corridors, pavilions and ponds. Apart from that… it felt like visiting Disneyland or a movie set. Everything was sparkly new and obviously built for one purpose: Selling whatever it was that people were prepared to buy.
